Terms of Service
The terms covering your use of BLD Coach during closed testing and after release.
Last updated 6 August 2026
Agreement
These terms govern your use of BLD Coach, a training application for blindfolded speedcubing published by Embarc Information Technology (P) Ltd. (“Embarc”, “we”). By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use BLD Coach on devices you own or control, for your own practice and training.
- You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense or rent the app
- You may not decompile or reverse-engineer it except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded
- You may not remove or obscure any proprietary notices
- The app, its design and its built-in algorithm library remain our intellectual property
Closed testing
BLD Coach is currently distributed for closed testing and is not generally available. During this period the app is provided for evaluation: features may change or be removed, and builds may expire. We do not guarantee continuity of service, backwards compatibility of data between test builds, or any particular release date.
Keep your own exports. Settings provides JSON, CSV and full database backup, and you should use them before updating a test build.
Your content and your data
Your solves, sessions, notes and custom algorithms are yours. They are stored locally on your device, and we claim no ownership over them.
Because this data is held on your device rather than on our servers, you are responsible for retaining backups. We cannot recover data lost through device failure, device loss, or uninstalling the app. See the Privacy Policy for what is stored and what reaches us.
Acceptable use
Use BLD Coach lawfully. Do not use it to infringe anyone’s rights, and do not attempt to disrupt or compromise the app or any related service.
Competition rules are set by the relevant governing body, not by this app. If you are practising for a WCA competition, the WCA regulations govern what is permitted there; a feature existing in BLD Coach is not a statement about competition legality.
Third-party stores
When BLD Coach is distributed through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, that distribution is additionally subject to the relevant store’s terms. Those platforms handle download, installation, updates and any payment; nothing in these terms overrides your rights under their policies or under applicable consumer law.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that timing measurements are suitable for any official or competitive purpose.
Nothing here excludes or limits any right you have under law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Embarc will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms as the app develops; the revised date above indicates the current version. We may suspend or discontinue the app, or any test build of it, at any time.
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.
